This is a 1 year college-level class designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement (AP) United States History Exam which will be taken in May. Taking this AP Exam and achieving a high score will enable you to obtain college credit. Since this is a college-level class, this course will be rigorous, the workload will be challenging, and the material covered will be in-depth.
This course focuses on the importance of good citzenship and offers students insight as to how they can make a difference in their community and society. In addition, the organization of the US government is analyzed as well. With the evaluation of these topics, civic participation on the part of students will be encouraged.

This course is designed to prepare students for the United States History and Government Regents Exam. Students will critically analyze the contributions made by Americans during various historical events in order to understand how America has evolved over time. As part of this course, primary documents will be analyzed, essay writing skills will be developed, group work assignments and projects will be completed, and historical knowledge of the students will be built up.
